EASEL TALK
My biggest goal, aside from teaching design and technique, by way of using painting and drawing as a vehicle, is to bridge the gap between all design disciplines (fashion, architecture, interior design, graphic design, illustration, photography sculpture, film, etc). Often times, even professionals within the various disciplines, fail to see this connection. Certainly, there is even more difficulty for those to see and understand this, who don't consider themselves "visual" people. But we are all visual people, and vision lies within the mind. There are many people who have lost their eyesight, but can still see because they understand this. The problem lies within learning HOW to see and HOW to think. This is not something that comes naturally. It has to be learned and practiced. If you know how to look at and break down a painting, then you can do the same with a building design, fashion design, film, sculpture, etc. This will be an exciting journey!
